Practical Laparoscopic Urology Training was organized first in 2005 in Ankara with cooperative study of Gülhane Military Academy of Medicine and University of Gazi, Medical Faculty Urology Department.
Aim of the training is to gain clinical experiences to participants to apply laparoscopic surgeries individually in their clinics, to provide to learn this new surgical concept on animal model under direct guiding and observance of trainers.
Practical Urologic Laparoscopic Surgery Training was organized 6 times before. Many leader urologic laparoscopic surgery scientist who were known in national and international field participated to these trainings. Trainings were accepted as post specialist training by Turkis Urology Association and included in continous training program. Second Practical Urologic Laparoscopic Surgery Training was credited as “59.5” and the third traning was credited with “20.5” TTB-STE credit note by Turkish Physician Association. 3. Since third training, trainings were accredited by Ministry of Health and it is the only training which has right to give certificate to trainees. It is included in sequent trainings of EBU and previous 3rd Training 18 and 5th Training 21 was graded with CME point. 6. Practical Urologic Laparoscopic Surgery Training was graded with 24, the highest point in this field by EBU-ACME. Every training is limited with 36 trainees. Approximately 250 urologist and pediatric surgery specialist has taken certificate from these trainings.
After urology specialists from Germany, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Greece and Azerbaijan has taken laparoscopi training; the training became international. Besides Turkish laparoscopic urologists, trainers who were specalized in laparoscopy training from Germany, Italy, Greece, England and Romania exist among trainers.
Daily 1 symposium are organized in every training. In these syposiums, world famous urologists who were proved themselves in laparoscopic urologic surgery give conferences in these symposiums and they perform surgeries such as live laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and partial nephrectomy. By this time, Dr. Inderbir Gill, Dr. Anup Ramani, Dr. Jeffrey Cadeddu from USA; Dr. Peter Cuckow from England, Dr. Jens Rasweiller, Dr. Doğu Teber and Dr. Ali Serdar Gözen from Germany; Dr. Cloude Abbou from France and Dr. Günter Janetschek from Austria has participated to these symposiums.
